Privacy Policy for Breathetastic

Last Updated: January 2025

Introduction

Welcome to Breathetastic. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe, secure experience for all our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.

Company: 9551-0020 Québec inc.

Information We DO NOT Collect

Breathetastic is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, including:

  • No video recordings or images from your camera
  • No facial recognition data
  • No personal identification information
  • No usage analytics or tracking data
  • No location information
  • No health records or medical information

Camera Usage

Breathetastic uses your device's camera exclusively for real-time face detection to monitor breathing patterns during video sessions. Here's what you need to know:

  • Real-time Processing Only: All face detection happens locally on your device in real-time using Apple's ARKit framework
  • No Storage: No images or videos are ever saved, stored, or transmitted
  • No Recording: The camera feed is never recorded
  • Local Processing: All processing happens on your device - no data leaves your device
  • Session-based: Camera access is only active during breathing sessions and stops immediately when you end a session

TrueDepth API Usage

Breathetastic uses Apple's TrueDepth API (part of the ARKit framework) to detect facial movements for nasal breathing monitoring:

  • What We Collect: We access only the jaw open/close measurement (a single numerical value from 0.0 to 1.0) to determine if your mouth is open or closed.
  • What We DON'T Collect:
    • No video recordings or photos from your camera
    • No complete facial maps or 3D geometry
    • No facial recognition or identity information
    • No other TrueDepth data points
  • How It's Used: The jaw measurement is processed in real-time on your device to automatically pause videos when mouth breathing is detected, helping you develop nasal breathing habits.
  • Data Storage: Face measurements exist only in memory during active sessions. After your session ends, all biometric data is immediately discarded. Only aggregate statistics (session duration, breathing efficiency percentages) are saved locally on your device.
  • Data Transmission: ZERO. All TrueDepth processing happens locally on your device using Apple's secure ARKit framework. No face data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
  • Your Control: You can revoke camera access at any time through iOS Settings > Privacy > Camera > Breathetastic.

YouTube Integration

Breathetastic allows you to watch YouTube videos within the app. Please note:

  • YouTube videos are embedded using YouTube's official iframe API
  • Your interaction with YouTube content is subject to YouTube's Privacy Policy
  • We do not have access to your YouTube account information
  • We do not track which videos you watch
  • Video URLs you enter are stored locally only for your convenience (recent videos list)

Subscription Information

If you purchase a premium subscription:

  • All subscription transactions are handled by Apple through the App Store
  • We do not have access to your payment information
  • Your subscription status is stored locally on your device
  • Subscription information syncs across your devices using Apple's StoreKit framework

Data Storage

Breathetastic stores minimal data locally on your device:

  • Your app preferences and settings
  • Session history (dates and durations only, no video or biometric data)
  • Recent YouTube video URLs (for your convenience)
  • Subscription status
  • Premium users: Breathing statistics and session analytics

This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.

Third-Party Services

Breathetastic uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions
  • YouTube iframe API: For embedding and controlling YouTube videos

These services operate according to their respective privacy policies. We have chosen services that prioritize user privacy and data protection.
